Sheffield Vision Centre is owned and operated by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

A huge percentage of our patients choose to put their faith in Sheffield Vision Centre because we are NHS owned and governed. We are based within a hospital with a major eye department and have all the facilities of that unit at our disposal.

Additionally, all the income kindly generated by our private patients allows the hospital to purchase otherwise unaffordable laser technology which is then available for use by NHS patients when required to treat pathological conditions. Any remaining profit is reinvested directly to support NHS services within the eye department here at the Hallamshire Hospital. We are here to support the NHS.

Whilst we are NHS owned, Sheffield Vision Centre operates out of its own purpose built facilities on A floor of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. Our facilities, and our experienced staff, are of the highest quality, and our surgeons Mr Matthew Edwards and Mr Mathew Raynor are both corneal and refractive surgery specialists. Their busy NHS clinics contain a huge variety of complex eye and refractive problems and you should be confident that they have the experience and expertise to care for you.

Sheffield Vision Centre falls under the governance of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and so you can be assured of a carefully managed approach to any surgical intervention.
