Wavefront analysis is a precise way of measuring how perfectly an individual eye focuses light to a single point.

The results obtained can be used to personalise your laser treatment.

It can be used to guide both LASIK and LASEK eye surgery. At the Sheffield Vision Centre all prospective laser candidates undergo wavefront analysis. You will be able to discuss with surgeon whether or not it would be beneficial for you to use it during your treatment.

There is no extra cost for wavefront guided treatment if it is felt that you would benefit.

Wavefront analysis is also used for planning PRESBYOND® Laser Blended Vision.  This treatment reduces the need for reading glasses in older people who choose LASIK.  'Fourth order' wavefront changes are combined with 'micro-monovision' to give both near and distance vision whilst both eyes are open.
